Weymouth Club offers numerous water fitness classes for all kinds of participants – and best of all they’re free with your Weymouth Club membership! All classes are taught by certified instructors.
Aquatic training uses the properties of water for support, assistance and resistance. These are effective ways to treat new or old injuries and assist prolonged recovery after surgery. We offer courses for the following certifications:
Minimum class size of 4, maximum of 12
About 3 hours of in-person instruction along with 3 hours of online instruction
Prerequisites:
Be 13 years of age
Course information:
This course provides students with the skills and knowledge to provide lifesaving care when a situation requires it. Skills include providing high quality CPR, administering basic First Aid, and using and AED device.
Minimum class size of 5, maximum of 10
22 hours of in person instruction with approximately 6 hours of online instruction
This course includes CPR
Prerequisites:
Complete a swimming event of 150yds, 2-minute tread with no hands, 50yds
Complete a timed event of swimming 20yds, dive to retrieve a 10lb object from the bottom and swim back with the object in 1 minute 40 seconds
Be 15.5 years of age
Be able to pull full grown adults of all shapes and sizes out of the water with some assistance
Course information:
This course provides those with the proper swimming ability the knowledge to prevent injury in and around aquatic environments. Should an incident occur, they will also have the skills to perform rescues and provide care as needed including CPR, First Aid and use of an AED device.
Minimum class size of 4, maximum of 10
Approximately 7 hours of in-person instruction
Prerequisites:
Be 11 years of age (recommended for those 11-15 years old)
Course information:
Provides participants with the knowledge and skills to safely care for children and infants. Teach students how to build a babysitting business. Skills include basic First Aid, child and infant CPR, along with problem solving, and other skills.
